Honest Review: 1More Open Earbuds S70. Light and Seriously Good

When it comes to audio gear, I’ve always been a fan of traditional earbuds or over-ear headphones, especially when I’m out walking the dog or working from home. My go-to choice recently has been the 1More Sonoflow Pro, which I absolutely love for its top-notch sound quality and superb noise cancellation. So when 1More sent me their new open earbuds, the S70, for review, I was both curious and a little skeptical. After all, open earbuds are a different experience altogether.

But to my surprise, these open earbuds turned out to be seriously good. 1More has always impressed me with the way they tune their headphones, and the S70 was no exception. While it doesn’t support wireless charging—so you’ll need to use a USB-C cable and charger—it makes up for that with its design. I’m really impressed by the dark gray color, which gives it a sleek, modern look. But what really caught my eye is the transparent top. It’s a small detail, but it adds a nice touch, allowing you to see the earbuds inside.

Now, while the case is a bit bigger than what you might expect due to the shape of the open earbuds, it’s still relatively slim, making it easy to carry around. Despite being made of plastic like many other earbud cases, this one feels surprisingly premium in hand. I thought this good-looking case definitely deserved a mention right at the start of the review!

Now, let’s talk about the look of the 1More S70, because they really do feel premium. From the moment I picked them up, I could tell these earbuds were extremely well made. To be honest, they look stunning—sleek and modern, with a design that immediately catches your eye.

One of the standout features is just how light they are. Crafted from lightweight aerospace-grade titanium and soft, skin-friendly liquid silicone, they’re so light that, after a while, you almost forget you’re even wearing them. That level of comfort is rare, especially for open earbuds. The S70s sit comfortably, and I’m particularly impressed with how 1More has implemented their logo on each side.

Overall, the design is absolutely stunning. 1More has managed to create something unique here, combining both form and function in a way that’s truly impressive.

When it comes to earbuds, having great battery life is a must, and 1More has certainly delivered with the S70. These earbuds can last up to 12 hours on a single charge, which is pretty impressive. And the case? It offers up to 40 hours of battery life, making sure you're covered for even longer sessions without needing to recharge. If you happen to forget to charge them, don’t worry—just 5 minutes of charging will give you an additional 2 hours of playtime. That’s a feature I really appreciate for those days when you're in a rush and need a quick top-up!

Now, let’s talk about the 1More app. You might notice two apps in your App Store: 1More and 1More Audio. It’s important to choose the first one—1More. The app is well-designed and connects instantly to the S70 open earbuds. I was also impressed with the variety of equalizer settings you can choose from, allowing you to tailor the sound to your liking. Overall, the app worked seamlessly with my iPhone and didn’t crash once, which is always a plus.

Now, onto the sound quality, which is always a big deal for me. As I mentioned earlier, I’ve never used open earbuds before, so there was a bit of a learning curve. At first, I thought they weren’t as loud as I expected, but once I adjusted them properly, I realized I was wrong—they’re definitely loud enough, just not too loud, which is actually ideal for this type of earbud.

As you would expect from 1More, the focus on sound quality is crystal clear. The S70 offers that warm, rich sound that I’ve come to love from their products. The bass is surprisingly solid for open earbuds, and overall, I’ve been pretty impressed with the audio experience.

I’ve been using them daily for just over a week now, and I have to admit, at first, I was kind of on the fence. But now, after giving them some proper time, I realize that open earbuds are actually fantastic. With the impressive battery life, great comfort and amazing sound quality, the 1More S70 is way more than just "OK."
