Honest Review: Norse Organics Kill Acne and Redness Ritual
A while back, Norse Organics reached out to me and kindly sent over their Kill Acne & Redness Ritual set, along with the Anti-Age & Glow Ritual, for an honest review. As someone who values transparency, I always share my genuine experiences with skincare products, especially when they don't agree with my skin. While I don't personally struggle with acne, my 14-year-old son occasionally faces frustrating flare-ups. To provide a comprehensive review, I tested the moisturizer and face scrub from the Kill Acne & Redness Ritual, while my son used the same products along with the acne treatment.
You might have come across Norse Organics on TikTok and other social media platforms, where it seems thousands are raving about their products. Curious to see if these glowing reviews hold true, we decided to put them to the test ourselves.
Please note, I'm not receiving any payment from Norse Organics for this review. They provided the products for free, and if you choose to purchase through my affiliate links, I earn a small commission, which helps support my blog. Rest assured, I only recommend products that I believe in and that work for me.
What’s in the Kill Acne & Redness Ritual?
The Kill Acne & Redness Ritual from Norse Organics is a thoughtfully curated three-step skincare regimen designed to combat acne and reduce redness. This set includes:
6-in-1 Daily Glow & Moisturize Balm: A versatile balm that hydrates, reduces redness, and imparts a natural glow. Apply a thin layer to your face every morning to start your day with nourished skin.
Premium+ Face Scrub: A gentle exfoliant formulated to remove dead skin cells and impurities. Use this scrub 2-3 times a week during your shower routine. Before entering the shower, take a small pinch of the powder with dry hands, mix it with water in your palm, and gently massage your face for 1-2 minutes. Avoid introducing water into the jar to maintain the product's integrity.
Acne & Redness Killer Night Balm: A potent treatment targeting acne and redness. Apply a thin layer to your face at night before bed. For areas with significant acne, you can apply this balm 3-4 times daily to expedite results.
Please note that the 6-in-1 Daily Glow & Moisturize Balm and the Premium+ Face Scrub are the same products featured in the Anti-Age & Glow Ritual. That’s why I used them as part of my daily skincare routine, while my son followed the complete Kill Acne Ritual, including the Acne & Redness Killer Night Balm.
This way, we were both able to fully test the products and experience their effects!
The Power of Natural Ingredients: How the Kill Acne & Redness Ritual Works
Norse Organics' Kill Acne & Redness Ritual harnesses the power of natural, Arctic-sourced ingredients, each selected for its unique benefits in combating acne and soothing skin. Here's a closer look at the key components and their roles:
1. Wild Mountain Marigold (Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract): Sourced from the Norwegian mountains, this potent extract is renowned for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It effectively targets acne-causing bacteria and accelerates the healing of existing blemishes, promoting clearer skin.
2. Thistle Oil (Carthamus Tinctorius Seed Oil): Rich in linoleic acid, thistle oil closely mimics the skin's natural oils, helping to balance hydration levels. This balance is crucial in preventing the overproduction of sebum, which can lead to clogged pores and acne formation.
3. Lavender Oil (Lavandula Angustifolia Oil): Known for its soothing and antibacterial qualities, lavender oil aids in cleansing pores and reducing inflammation. Its calming effect helps alleviate redness and irritation associated with acne.
4. Organic Beeswax (Cera Alba): Beeswax forms a protective barrier on the skin, locking in moisture and shielding against environmental irritants. This barrier function supports the skin's natural healing processes and prevents external factors from exacerbating acne.
5. Vitamin E (Tocopherol): A powerful antioxidant, vitamin E protects skin cells from damage caused by free radicals. It also supports skin repair and strengthens the skin barrier, enhancing resilience against acne-causing bacteria.
By combining these natural ingredients, Norse Organics offers a holistic approach to skincare, addressing the root causes of acne while nurturing the skin's health.
Our experience
Let’s start with the 6-in-1 Glow Moisturizer, which, in my opinion, is the star of the show in this ritual. This is a thick moisturizer—exactly the type I prefer over the thinner, more liquid formulas. Right off the bat, it leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft and hydrated, with an added bonus: an immediate glow.
That glow, however, comes with an interesting twist. Thanks to one of its ingredients, it feels almost like a tinted moisturizer. While this can be great for evening out your complexion, it’s something to keep in mind if you have a beard or stubble. I have a dark beard, and when I applied the moisturizer to the hairy area, it left a subtle ginger tint. So, my advice? Stick to the non-hairy areas to avoid this effect.
Another tip: once applied, give it a few minutes to fully absorb into your skin. Not only does this help the product settle for a more natural glow, but it also prevents it from transferring to your clothes. I learned this the hard way when it left a noticeable mark on my white t-shirt. Thankfully, the stain wasn’t permanent, but it’s worth mentioning so you can avoid the same mishap.
After it’s absorbed, though, the magic really happens. The initial “tinted” glow fades into a natural, radiant finish that honestly feels fantastic. It’s like your skin just drank a tall glass of hydration.
Overall, it’s a great moisturizer that does exactly what it promises—nourishes, softens, and adds a healthy glow. Just be mindful of where and how you apply it, and you’ll love the results.
Next up is the Premium+ Face Scrub, and I have to say, this was a first for me—I’ve never used a powder exfoliator before. And if I’m being completely honest, this isn’t my favorite way to exfoliate. The process is simple but a bit finicky: you take a pinch of the powder into your dry hand, wet your palm, mix it up, and then apply it to your face.
The key here is to keep the tin and the powder inside completely dry. So, no wet hands near the tin! While this might seem like a small thing, it adds a step of caution that I’m not used to with other exfoliators.
That said, the product itself is really nice. It’s a super mild exfoliator, which means it’s gentle on the skin—no redness, no irritation, and definitely no sandpaper vibes here. It’s also made with natural ingredients, so there are no plastic microbeads in sight (a big plus for both your skin and the environment).
Despite my hesitation with the powder format, I can’t deny that it does its job well. It effectively removes dead skin, deeply cleans out pores, and even targets acne-causing bacteria. My skin felt smooth, fresh, and clean after using it, without any of that tight, dry feeling that some exfoliators can leave behind.
You’re meant to use this 2-3 times a week, and as part of the Kill Acne & Redness Ritual, it plays an important role. While I’m not completely sold on the concept of a powder exfoliator—it’s just a bit out of my comfort zone—it absolutely works, and that’s what really matters. If you’re open to trying something new and natural, this is definitely worth a shot!
The final product in the Kill Acne & Redness Ritual is the Acne & Redness Killer Night Balm, and this is where my son stepped in to test it. As I mentioned in the introduction, I don’t deal with acne personally, but my 14-year-old son occasionally experiences flare-ups. For him, like many teenagers, even a few spots can feel like a big deal.
We didn’t start using the ritual immediately—my son waited for one of those annoying flare-ups to happen. When it did, he had a few spots on his cheek, so he decided to follow the complete ritual daily, using nothing else alongside it.
The Acne & Redness Killer Night Balm became part of his evening routine, applied every night before bed. The first thing he noticed was how much nicer his skin felt—softer and smoother than usual. (This is something I can definitely relate to from my experience with the 6-in-1 Glow Moisturizer!) More importantly, his flare-up didn’t get worse, which is a big win when you’re dealing with acne.
Over the course of about two weeks, his acne spots disappeared completely. To be fair, my son doesn’t struggle with constant acne, but this time the flare was noticeably milder than usual. It seems the ritual worked on a preventative level too, helping to calm and control his skin before things escalated.
Having worked as a healthcare assistant in a pharmacy, I’ve seen how challenging acne can be for some teenagers and adults. For severe cases, antibiotics are sometimes the only solution when nothing else works. However, I always believe antibiotics should be a last resort. If you’ve tried everything else and are still searching for something effective, I’d recommend giving this product a shot. It clearly worked for my son, and based on the thousands of positive reviews out there, it seems to be helping a lot of people.
In my son’s case, the Acne & Redness Killer Night Balm played a key role in calming his skin and clearing his flare-up. For anyone dealing with occasional or mild acne, this could be a game-changer—and even for those with more severe cases, it’s definitely worth a try before resorting to prescription treatments.
Final thoughts
After testing the Kill Acne & Redness Ritual, I can confidently say that Norse Organics has put together a thoughtful, effective set of products designed to tackle acne and redness while leaving your skin feeling great. Whether you’re using the luxurious 6-in-1 Glow Moisturizer, the gentle yet effective Premium+ Face Scrub, or the targeted Acne & Redness Killer Night Balm, each product serves a clear purpose and complements the others perfectly.
For me, the moisturizer stood out for its immediate glow and hydration, even if it requires a bit of care during application. The exfoliator, while not my favorite format, proved to be a gentle, natural solution for smoother, cleaner skin. And my son’s experience with the Acne & Redness Killer Night Balm showed its ability to not only manage flare-ups but also prevent them from becoming worse—a huge win for any teenager dealing with acne.
Overall, if you’re looking for a natural, effective solution for occasional or mild acne—or even as a preventative measure—the Kill Acne & Redness Ritual is a fantastic option. It’s a thoughtful blend of science and nature, and while it might not be for everyone, it’s certainly worth a try if you’re struggling to find something that works. Plus, knowing that it’s made with high-quality ingredients and a focus on sustainability is just the cherry on top.
