My daily shaving ritual in less than 10 minutes.
Hi everyone.
Today I want to share with you my Express Shaving Ritual. 5-10 minutes is all you need to have a fresh look with great looking skin! I have already reviewed the excellent range of NiP Man for men, but lately I have been trying a lot of different shaving gels, moisturising creams, after shave balms etc…. Here is a list of my favourite products for this morning ritual!
Step One: Face Wash
After your morning shower, it is very important to wash your face, especially before shaving. Using a good Face Wash product that doesn’t dry your skin is a guarantee to a great and easy shave. There are a lot of Facial Washes for men available on the market but there is one that I really like because of it’s “wake up” effect! The L’Oreal Hydra Energetic Face Wash is a must have to start the day. First splash your face with nice warm water, then use a generous amount of the Hydra Energetic Face Wash. With your fingers, firstly wash your fore head then step by step the rest of your face…..don’t forget your neck! The Hydra Energetic Face Wash deeply cleans and purifies your skin without drying it out!
Total time: 1-2 minutes!
Remember: Don’t dry once finished because it’s Shaving Time!
Step two: Let's Shave
Recently I discovered the new L’Oreal Shave Gel Extreme Glide. According to L’Oreal, this new Shave Gel has an ice effect with triple action for an extreme glide effect. Guess what? It does exactly what it says and it is an extremely nice sensation for a quick and easy morning shave. The new Shave Gel Extreme Glide doesn’t foam, so my advice is to apply a generous quantity of product and use your favourite blade. Once shaving is finished...rinse with warm water first, then splash your face with cold water and dry with a clean towel!
Total time: 2 Minutes
Step three: After Shave Balm
This next step is very important because a lot of men don’t apply a balm after shaving. Guys...you have to change your habits! Shaving every day can cause serious damage to your skin, so if you want to look good...an after shave balm is one of the most important steps. There are two balms that I really like and they are directed at two very different groups of men.
- If you want an After Shave Balm with a very light fragrance and texture, I recommend the after shave balm by Bulldog. It is packed with 8 essential oils, aloe vera, chamomille, cucumber and green tea extract to help calm and soothe the skin. The texture is very light and it has a fast absorption. Your skin will thank you for using this balm.
- The other After Shave Balm that I really like is the Ted Grooming Room post shave balm from Ted Baker. The texture is thicker than other balm but it absorbs quickly and leaves your skin with an amazing clean and fresh feeling. It has a stronger fragrance with eucalyptus but it is really great. It is perfect to moisturise your skin.
Total Time: 1 minute.
Step four: It's Splash Time
This following step is the fastest and it will take you less than 30 seconds. Once you are shaved, and you have applied your after shave balm, it is time to close all your pores before moisturising. I usually use the Ted Grooming Room Cologne aftershave splash. It contains a bit of alcohol but you don’t need to use a lot on your face and it only takes a few seconds to apply. The smell of this cologne is really nice and it feels like you have been to an Italian barber.
Total time: 20-30 secs
Step Five: It's Moisturising Time
This is the last step of my daily ritual and it is one of the most important too! Your skin needs a good moisturising cream for the next few hours. It is very easy to apply with your fingers: fore head, face and neck. Then you are done for the day and you will look fresh, clean and ready to have a nice day.
My favourite moisturising creams are:
- Nip Man moisturising (read review here)
- Bull Dog Original Moisturiser
- Loreal Men Expert Hydra Energetic Anti-Fatigue Moisturiser.
Total time: 1-2 minutes.
Well, that's it for my daily ritual. I hope this post will help those of you with troubles or questions about a good daily morning shave!
